Students Develop Architecture Proposals

Hank Tkacik, an architect from Axis Architecture, lent a hand to Penn-Trafford students who are working on a project for their gifted classes at the high school and middle schools.  The students were challenged to create a proposal for repurposing a vacant building in Trafford to meet the needs of the community.

Tkacik gave the students tips on how to build scale models and how to tailor their models to specifications.  He also showed the students how to use Google Earth to determine the dimensions of the property. He met independently with each of the five teams to discuss their vision for the development of the building. The teams will present their work to a panel of community members in the Spring.
