The 6th-graders of Penn Middle School enjoyed dining at the exclusive restaurant, ‘Penn Middle Pizza, Pasta, Pronto’ during an October math lesson.
Math teachers Mrs. Wentroble, Mrs. Supernovich, and Mrs. Oberkofler wanted to engage their students with concepts including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals. They created the restaurant lesson to give students practice taking orders and doing the math that came with it. Although no real food was served, patrons received dishes printed with math equations to challenge their skills. It was a fun and creative lesson for all involved.
Keegan Swartz takes orders at the restaurant; eggplant parmesan was a crowd favorite for only $12.55!
