A team of Penn-Trafford 6th-graders took part in a Model Fort Competition which was sponsored by Fort Ligonier. After months of planning and building, the forts of over 50 teams were displayed at the Ligonier, PA museum on March 11.
Penn Middle School sixth-graders Maddie Barton, Ezza Lapcevic, and Liam McCabe accepted the challenge to build a model 1700s fort that mimicked the materials available in the area and addressed weather conditions and terrain that were faced during that time period.
