Games Lighten the Mood at Penn Middle School

Penn-Trafford teacher, Mrs. Katie Datz, added an assortment of games to her classroom at Penn Middle School this year.  Funding for the games was made possible by DonorsChoose, a crowdsourcing platform for teachers.

“Using games in the classroom will help to increase my students’ participation, foster social and emotional learning, and encourage them to take risks,” commented Datz.  “There are so many other benefits of games in the classroom, such as improved cognitive abilities, greater multi-tasking ability, and more accurate decision-making.”

Datz plans to incorporate the games weekly, to enrich student learning and enhance motivation.
