Penn-Trafford School District Honors January 2026 Students of the Month

The Penn-Trafford School District proudly recognized its Students of the Month for January 2026 during the School Board meeting held on Monday, January 5. The honorees were invited to attend the meeting with their families, where they were celebrated for their academic excellence, leadership, character, and positive contributions to their school communities.

At the elementary level, Katherine Josephic, a fifth-grade student at McCullough Elementary School, was recognized as Student of the Month. Principal Dr. Karin Coiner praised Katherine for being an incredible student who consistently demonstrates leadership in the classroom and kindness as a great friend to her peers.

Representing the middle school level was Natalia Gunstrom, an eighth-grade student at Penn Middle School. Introduced by Principal Mr. Roger Sullivan, Natalia was commended for her diligence as a student, strong involvement in extracurricular activities, and consistently positive attitude.

At the high school level, Amelia Lightner, a tenth-grade student at Penn-Trafford High School, was honored. Assistant Principal Ms. Megan Flaherty shared that Amelia is a strong advocate in the classroom for both herself and others. She was recognized for her genuine care for those around her and her significant involvement in volunteer efforts.

The Penn-Trafford School District congratulates Katherine, Natalia, and Amelia on this well-deserved recognition and thanks them for exemplifying the values of excellence, leadership, and service within their schools.
